Central Institute of Psychiatry is one of the premier training centers in India for mental health professionals. Ranchi Institute of Neuro-Psychiatry and Applied Science

Previously known as Ranchi Mansik Arogyashala (RMA), established in 1795 A.D. when the Lunatic Asylum was established in Munghyr near the court premises south of the Ganges River.
